Summer camp. Everyone loves it, right? Certainly most of the people who visit this blog or listen to the podcast must have some fondness for it.
So when someone turns up with a decidedly different point of view on the value of camp, that’s just someone we gotta talk to.
Mac Schwerin, a freelance journalist and copywriter, recently wrote an essay for Vox titled “The Case Against Summer Camp“, in which he posits that camp is a…bad thing. We know, it’s hard to process.
Naturally we have a different view of summer camp, so we invited him on for a far-ranging (and civil!) discussion about the pros and cons of camp.
Who was right? Who was wrong?
Listen in and decide for yourself!
